The former captain of Hastings Cricket Club 1st XI, Carl Read, and his colleague at local accountants Ashdown Hurrey, Ben Sallows, are celebrating this week after becoming Associates with the Hastings and Bexhill firm. The Associate Development Programme within Ashdown Hurrey is well known for the challenging criteria and extensive testing each candidate has to go through.
Both Carl and Ben trained at Ashdown Hurrey, with Ben gaining his ACA qualification in 1998 and Carl becoming ACCA in 2005. Patrick Lee, pictured (right) with Carl (left) and Ben (centre), is a Partner with Ashdown Hurrey and is delighted that the firm has two new Associates on the management team. Patrick said:
To achieve Associate status candidates have to be invited on to the programme by the Partners, for which there is no time scale or guarantee of success. For the position to have the respect it deserves the programme has to be difficult to attain. Both guys are extremely dedicated and can be very proud of their professionalism and these latest achievements.
Carl and Ben manage a varied portfolio of clients and feel their appointments reflect the considerable investment by Ashdown Hurrey in their career development. Speaking for both, Ben said: We are very grateful for the time and support provided by Ashdown Hurrey and are looking forward to the continued development of our skills and knowledge and working as Associates with our many clients.
